LS34R Hangs on Open Layout

Bug:

If the program is closed in the maximized (full screen) condition, it will re-open in the same state.  When the program re-opens in a maximized condition, any attempts to open a layout will seem to hang the program (or seems to close it). Once it does you can't restart it.

Notes:

In actuality the program does not hang, but continues to run non-visually.  The screen just never re-appears. This is why attempts to restart it fail - you can only open 1 copy of it. 

Recovering:

1. Open the Task Manager by pressing CTRL-ALT-DEL once.
2. Move to the LS34R entry, and select "End task". This will close the program.
3. Reopen the LS34R. It should still be maximized, but have taken on the other attributes for the layout you were trying to open.
4. Click the Restore (middle) icon in the upper right hand corner to non-maximize the screen.
5. Close the program to set the startup size to non-maximized.
6. Reopen the program - it should now handle normally.
